Orbital Cellulitis

I am happy to say that our patient with the severe left-sided orbital cellulitis is much improved! The patient continues to be in the hospital for IV antibiotics, but hopefully can be discharged next week.

Attempted right gaze on day of presentation. The patient was unable to adduct the left eye. There was no relative afferent pupillary defect.

Day 2


X-ray 2 days after presentation. There is complete opacification of the left maxillary sinus and significant opacification of the left ethmoids.


Day 5. Patient is much improved!
